Why support the Skills Development Foundation?

Most educational training material caters for specialised learning in specific subjects for specific school grades. We ensure that the often-overlooked skills of learning, life and entrepreneurship are included in learners’ academic careers. We teach learners learning methodologies so that a firm foundation, on which to build their future studies and success, is established. We believe in holistic learning: body, mind and spirit – not just the brain.

What makes us different from other educational foundations is that we focus on the learners, teachers and parents. Not only do we implement network enabled educational software in schools to enrich learners’ education, we also provide on-going support via the LeafLine Call Centre to the schools, learners and parents. The success of our products and services is dependent on the successful implementation by educational institutions, teachers and learners. Therefore, to support this process, we have developed a curriculum that guides learners and teachers with their knowledge application over a 12 month period.

An investment in our youth is an investment in our country’s future. The Skills Development Foundation manages this investment and ensures that teachers are equipped with quality learning material, and that learners are equipped with critical learning, life and entrepreneurial skills in order to become successful, proactive participants in their futures.

Contribution and financial management

The Skills Development Foundation will acquire resources based on learner demand. This means that product and service providers will be managed in relation to these demand levels. The Skills Development Foundation will acquire products and services per learner only; no other expenses will be incurred and funded by the investor. The Skills Development Foundation will invest R300 per learner per annum. Only learners, parents and educational institutions will benefit. Leaf Educational Designs, WebLessons and ICS will install, train and support our learners directly. They will cover all administration costs in order to provide best products and services.

Financial management and control are important. We aim to manage our investments and finances with transparency, and have therefore invited Mr Phillip Kempen (LDP Auditors) and Mr Oloff Sieberhage (Marais Muller Yekiso Attorneys) to assist.
