HistoryHistory of the SKills Development Foundation The foundation was started during negotiations with various departments of education and business, which aim to highlight the need for learning, life and entrepreneurial skills development in previously disadvantaged schools. The Western Cape Department of Education referred eight focus schools (Addendum D) to the Skills Development Foundation. These focus schools received technology facilities such as computer laboratories, which were integrated into the curriculum delivery process. The educational software offered by the Skills Development Foundation will help deliver the subsequent critical skills training by teachers and learners. The Skills Development Foundation was registered as an article-21 company. Under the leadership of an independent board of directors, the Skills Development Foundation intends to deliver on promises made. The foundation promises responsible and effective business skills, and more importantly, accountability, credibility and honesty to our partners, teachers and learners.
