Our vision, our purpose

The vision of the Skills Development Foundation is to impart effective teaching, learning, life and entrepreneurial skills to learners and teachers through training and support using specialist learning methodologies; thereby fostering an honest commitment and loyalty to South African educational development. Acknowledgment and reward of teachers’ and learners’ achievements are key values of this vision.

Our goal is to:

• Assist previously disadvantage learners of South Africa to become independent and successful learners, starting with the 8 so-called Focus Schools identified by the Western Cape Educational Department.

Our purpose is to:

• Promote learners’ participation in the development of learning, life and entrepreneurial skills.
• Prepare primary school learners for secondary school.
• Prepare secondary school learners for life after school.
• Help to achieve successful and independent lifestyles for learners.
• Promote teachers’ encouragement of learners to take ownership of their future.
• Assist teachers with quality teaching via Interactive Curriculum Support.
